My mom's kitchen is decorated with strawberry stuff. So when I saw this pattern for a strawberry shaped box, I just couldn't resist! And it was so much fun to make, I decided to do a little tutorial to show you how I did it. :o)Rather than making the box with just paper, I wanted to cover it with fabric. So I used some iron-on fusible webbing.I ironed the webbing to the back of the fabric first...peeled off the paper backing and then...ironed that onto a piece of white cardstock. I traced the pattern onto the back of the cardstock {now with fabric on the other side}... and cut it out. I used a bone folder and ruler to score the fold lines, with my soft ironing board cover as a mat, folded up along the fold lines, punched holes using my Crop-a-dile,and ran a line of tacky glue on the tab. I traced the strawberry leaves onto a piece of green cardstock, and cut it out.Laced up the top with some pretty ribbon,
filled with Hershey's kisses, and put it in the mail, addressed to my mom.Sweet, huh?

I liked this project berry much {sorry!}, I think my mom will too. ;o)

Happy Easter
It is really cute. But I'm curious - were you able to mail it just like that? or in a package?
a very fruitful crafting session !
Your tutorials are always so clear and easy to follow,Deb.....love the little box....and also love strawberries!!
What a lovely project Deb - saved in my 'Things to do' folder.
How very pretty, Deb! Thank you for the little tutorial. That iron-on webbing is so useful - it's what I use quite often, to make my bookcloth, as it makes so much less mess than old-fashioned paste (and dries in milliseconds, rather than hours/days!). It also doesn't come through to the front of the fabric, so it's nice to use for fine cotton (lawn etc) and silks. I like that you attached it to cardstock for your box. A great idea and so pretty. I'm sure your mom was delighted with that great little present!
That is so cute and looks fairly easy to do too. I'm sure you're Mum will love it! xx
It's beautiful! It would be a lovely wedding favour box too I think.

This is so awesome in such perfect timing - I just went to the garden centre and got strawberry bushes with my girl to plant ;D
Yeah!
Happy Easter!
Oh, how I loved this gift! Not only was it a total surprise, it's just the cutest thing ever! My only problem--how to eat the Hershey's kisses and not destroy the precious strawberry box! I'm thinking that I may take it to Nashville and have you re-tie it for me!!! Thank you so much for being the kind of daughter that everyone else in the world wants!!
Sorry I didn't see your post until today--rough day yesterday and didn't turn my computer on at all! And I agree with Rinda--nice jewelry! Love you so much, Sweetie! xo
what a cute little box! I love covering journals with fabric (or any notebook I think I might use more than twice), but I had never thought to cover something like this... and Sian's right, it would make a cute wedding favour!
Hope you've had a lovely Easter weekend!
It's very sweet :) Great idea for adhering the fabric to the cardstock, never tried it before like that but think I might now.
Sweet and Beautiful! Thanks for sharing =Di-TST
