Skip, skip, skip to my...OUCH!

When I was a little girl I loved to skip. I wasn't good at running, but I was an excellent skipper. There's just something about skipping that is such a happy thing to do. Something about the rhythm of skipping and that little pause ~ almost a stutter ~ between strides. And sometimes, in a moment of life's cruelty, a pebble or a crack in the sidewalk could cause me to stumble. In an instant I'd go from happy flight to painful plight. Thank goodness for my mom who could make the biggest of boo-boo's feel better right away.

And so it is with life. I've been skipping along through this life, enjoying happy flight when life presented a fairly large crack in the sidewalk. This time it's up to me to help my mom, and it's a big boo-boo that can't be easily kissed away. We learned this past week that my mom {Marti} has cancer and she could really use your prayers.

This is a request for you, my dear readers, to keep my mom in your thoughts and/or prayers. In the meantime, I'll look forward to skipping again when she's all better. I know you'll forgive me if I'm not very present for a while...

Oh Deb - I am so sorry to hear this. I lost my Mom in 1998 to renal cancer. She was only 56. Sending lots of healing happy vibes your way and hoping that Mom can beat this thing! Hang in there.

I'm here if you need anything.

Thank you, Sweet daughter, and all your blog friends. Such a tender, precious way of sharing such a nasty story. Right this moment, I'm feeling a little low from my first round of chemo, however, I won't stay down long! I'm going to survive--with a kids and grandkids like I have, who would ever want to leave!!!! Love to all! xo

My heart goes to your mom and your whole family right now.
I did not have a cancer diagnosis but a rare neuromuscular illness that there is no cure for - but I tell you I came across a lot of research for ways to fight cancer. To name a few wheatgrass juice, vegan diet, gluten -free (or at least no wheat), lots of green juicing with beets, spinach etc.
Aside from the conventional therapy she's getting, I would seriously consider naturopathy (or at least a diet change - as they don't recommend herbal supplements when going under chemo). A great supplement is Spirulina (all natural algae)
Also, look up pranayama breathing (or yoga breathing which purifies the blood), also reflexology is also great, also look up oxygen therapy.
I reversed my diagnosis and feel almost 100% normal - all thanks to a diet change.
Of course, she should trust her doctors to do their thing but there is so much she can still do to improve her chances. Send her my best wishes and prayers. Big Hugs. Ella
(let me know if you have any questions or how I can help ;)
