I'm seeing red.

My Christmas trees have always been decorated with a mixture of random ornaments. You know the kind? Handmade by me. Handmade by little Carrie. Gifted from someone who apparently had no idea what I like. :o} You know, just random.

When I took our tree down last year I decided that the next time I put it up I'd do the whole thing in red and white. I separated the ornaments as I packed them away, holding anything red or white aside for the following year.

The tree has been up and boxes have been in our front room for the past week. Yesterday afternoon when I got home from work I dug in. I had Christmas music playing in the background on Pandora and my furry friend along side to "help" me.

What a great way to spend the afternoon.
.

And I really love the way our red and white tree looks this year. I couldn't resist throwing in a few angel ornaments and a couple of sentimental ones we inherited from my mother-in-law. It wasn't meant to be a designer tree after all, but I really do love the overall color scheme.

~sigh~

Time for a glass of wine and sitting on the couch with Whiskers enjoying the beautiful sight. {Note the cute tree skirt my mom made for me this past year ~ love it!}

PS: My mom will be visiting this weekend so we have lots of playing to do. I have a post ready for Sian's Christmas Club but it won't post until Monday this time because Monday is kind of a special day around here. Have a lovely weekend, and I'll see you soon. xo

Your tree looks gorgeous! We have always done our tree in red and gold makes it so much simpler :)

Our tree will be red, silver and white again this year. Decorating the tree is supervised by my daughter, woe betide anyone who tries to sneak a bauble on that she hasn't approved! We always put our decorations up on the weekend closest to The Husband's birthday, so we have another week to wait yet.
Lovely tree, and that pretty skirt is just beautiful!

It looks beautiful! We usually go random, although one year we did all snowmen and animals. I like the color idea. I'm decorating this weekend and next weekend will be tree time.

It looks terrific Deb! I coordinate each side of the tree but never the whole thing. And then the whole thing is tied together with roses, butterflies and fruit. I LOVE me some Christmas!

It is absolutely beautiful Deb! We will be decorating next weekend and we are big fans of random - I love including all the decorations the kids made at school many years ago and I love tinsel, even though its not really fashionable over here.

Have a wonderful Monday

I love your tree - ours tends to be a mix of red, gold and some white. I did notice the tree skirt and thought it was lovely - how wonderful to have one that your Mum made! Looking forward to seeing what you and your Mum get/got up to :) xx

We decorated yesterday and I LOVE all going through all of the ornaments every year---its like opening a present---you made SO many of them and I love them ALL. Presley's favorite are the letters of our first name. She says that we have "aunt Deb's love hangin on our tree" and we do!

The tree is beautiful, Deb! Our tree is still decorated with ornaments that span back to our first Christmas together. I have gone to red and white wrapping, though, and I love the coordinated look.
