Please Honey, call a plumber.

The dripping shower head in our master bathroom is about 20 feet from where I lay my head to try to fall asleep at night. I'm the only one who can hear it dripping because Doug...well...he just can't hear it. And since it doesn't annoy him while he's trying to fall asleep it hasn't been an urgent matter to be fixed. :o}

I've been nagging asking him to fix this drip-drip-drip for {eh-hm} a while now. This past weekend he decided to tackle it.

Me: "Why don't you call RT to help you?"
Doug: "No, no...I want to see if I can fix it first."
Me: ~sigh~ "I really wish you'd call RT..."

An hour later:

Doug: "Just so you know, I had to turn the water off to the house so we won't have water for a little while."
Me: {cringing slightly} "Who were you on the phone with? Did you call RT?"
Doug: "Yes...he'll be over tomorrow morning..."
Doug and RT have been friends for over 30 years. They grew up in the same neighborhood, played high school football together, have seen their share of ups and downs together, and remain fast friends to this day. RT is a great handy man, and today I am especially grateful for his plumbing skills.

I baked some blueberry muffins to send home with him as a thank you. It was the least I could do!
Doug: "Uh, just one little thing...the hot and cold dial is reversed from what it used to be."
...♥...
Me: "Thanks for fixing the drip, Dear."

Hmmmm.....this little story sounds very familiar....do all men refuse to admit that they can't actually fix everything!

:o) Doug likes to give everything a try first. I have to give him credit - most of the time he can figure it out...plumbing is not one of his strong suits though. xo

LOL! DH is a decent handy man, but I don't let him tackle plumbing since he flooded the kitchen in our very first townhouse! That was 20+ years ago; perhaps I should give him a new try.

Why do men put off asking for help? They are all the same! Pleased you got it fixed in the end, but please do remember about the mixed up taps - cold showers are not the best way to start the day!

Cute story! I still think you missed your calling--storytelling is one of your many talents! I LOVE having a husband who can do most anything--problem is: he is such a perfectionist and it takes him FOREVER to finish a project! You gotta keep those tools polished and clean with every twist of the wrench, you know! Love you! xo

If there's anything that I can't fix myself The Steve knows he'll need to call in the experts! I'm definitely the DIY-er in our household :)

Too funny - The Engineer yells "water out!" and vice versa for electricity - I'm getting used to it now!

The drip would've driven me insane too. I have a very non-handy husband so I have a list of people to call for such eventualities.

lol!! The Doctor is DIY-challenged - if a job is beyond me then we always get the experts in :-)
