Oh, the highs and the lows...

Carrie spotted this little shadow box frame yesterday at our local thrift store. I carried it around for a while and ended up putting it back on the shelf, only to think about it for the rest of the day and regret that I hadn't picked it up.

So this morning I rushed back to Goodwill
and started looking for it.

Low: Couldn't find it any where. :o(

High: Found it!!! It had been moved.

Low: Sweet young cashier asks, "Are you a senior?" Eh-hm... Me: "Nnnnooooo?"

High: Walking out of the store a good looking young guy asks, "How you doin'?"
~sigh~
(Later found out from Carrie that today is senior discount day and she thinks I should have said 'yes' but I'm not ready for a senior discount, thankyouverymuch!!!)

So, what to do with this cute little shadow box? I was thinking about decorating it, scrapbook style with small pictures and bits of coordinating paper. Now that I am looking at that wonderful red velvet, I may do a Christmas theme... Something to think about.

Well, you are a smokin' senior if I ever saw one! Evidently the guy thought so, too! You gotta remember--everyone in their late teens/early twentys thinks everyone over 30 is a senior!! Very cute shadow box! xo

Cute post! :) And I think they consider senior discount at Goodwill to be 55 and over, so you're only 5 years away! heh-heh-heh...wanna go shopping with me next Tuesday? ;)

I'm thinking 12 little boxes, 12 days of Christmas? It certainly is lovely and I just know you will do something fabulous with it.
Senior citizen? - pah! I prefer the Joey from Friends comment 'How YOU doing?'

Well, I think you Mum would be right IF you were a senior, which of course you aren't. At all. In any way. Great post which gave me a smile this morning :)

And thanks for your lovely comment yesterday!

:o) Thanks for your comments, everyone. I'm still laughing to myself about this episode from yesterday. I was telling a patient at work about it and she said, "You will never forget this day - the first time someone asked if you are a senior." LOL I think she's right!

PS: Carrie, you little stinker... xo

Ok really--how old was the cashier--12? You do not look like a "senior"! But can't wait to see what you will create out of the shadow box!!!
Love you!

Very funny! I love the shape of that shadowbox. I think that Ali Edwards has a similar product and some cut examples on her blog.

Oh, you've just made me laugh outloud! The cashier obviously needs specs! I remember being mortified when someone offered me their seat on the bus ~ I was in my early 30s at the time!
