My house.

A couple of weeks ago I won two blog giveaways - yes, on the same day, two of them! One of the prizes came from my blog-friend Rinda, and it included the supplies to make a cardboard house front. Rinda makes these houses and posts them on her blog regularly. I am always in awe of her designs. I love her style, though it is very different from my own, and I was excited to have a kit so that I might replicate what she does.

Funny...even using the supplies she sent me, my house looks nothing like the ones she builds. I added a few things from my own stash, but otherwise the rest of the house was made with supplies she sent.

{Caption under the picture reads:
"Bored? How can you be bored? I was never bored at your age."}

I love how it turned out, even though at first I was maybe a little disappointed that it didn't look like the houses that Rinda makes. She uses mists and paints and stuff that I'm afraid of - I thought that I did well to ink the edges!

And then I realized - I'll bet Rinda's own home looks a whole lot different from my home too. Our artistic styles may be very different, but we are each unique. The thread that binds us is our love of our art, our dedication to family, and the connection of creativity we share through this crazy World Wide Web.

Thanks, Rinda, for the very fun prize package!

I always love the fact that, given the same prompt and the same materials, people will always express themselves differently.

And your house looks superb x

It looks great! We don't have to be the same - I'm glad you put your own twist on it. Congratulations on the double win.

Your house looks gorgeous (and I love the quote!). I agree completely..I just love the fact that we can all have different styles and ways of doing things and yet still feel bound together by our outlook on life!

I think your house looks great. Wouldn't it be boring if we all did the same things, I love seeing how people can start with exactly the same supplies and the end results are totally different.

I'm always amazed that a "stack of stuff" can be turned into a work of art! Great job! Lovely narrative, too! xo

Your house looks fab! And you're right ... we all do our craft differently, but support each other in every way possible.

I love Rhinda's houses and her art journaling, too, but it is not my style either. It's good that we all have our own sensibilities when it comes to art. I love your house, and the quote you used. Just lovely.
