Heavy Metal - Class Prompt/Assignment

Yesterday was the first day of the online class I'm taking with Shimelle. She challenged us to use some of the metal we have in our current stash so I went looking...

This is the cover for the book that will be completed over the course of this class. Maybe I'm in a rut...but I love the look of Kraft paper and that's what I plan to use throughout my book.

Not too bad...I ended up with 11 brads, a metal arrow, and a book plate on this page. I must say I rarely use metal in my projects, but I really like the look of it and will definitely be using more in the future. Heaven knows I have PLENTY of it to spare.
.
My flowers were made by using a punch and pages from an old book I destroyed [re-purposed]. Then I crumpled the flower, flattened it back out, inked it, layered it, stuck a brad in the middle.
.
This was fun!
Can't wait to see what Friday's challenge holds!

It looks great - if this is what you just throw together with what you have lying around, I am doubly impressed!!!
Best,

Love the look... I like metal, but don't have any of it... how funny we are opposites.. or should I say "were" since you will be using it more. :-)

I need to look into those online classes... I think it "makes" you get something done.. :-)

This is beautiful! I love the kraft with the red and turquoise. And great job using that metal! I found 5 book plates yesterday in my stash! I was shocked by how easy it was to pull together stuff for a mini ablum.

I love the simplicity of your page and the flowers are great..... I have a couple of books that are falling apart and I plan to 'repurpose' them in a similar way!
