My, how things change.

Eventually, we all turn out to be just like our mothers.
♥ ♥
My daughter, Carrie and I saved up and took a trip to New York in June 2006 as a celebration of our graduations - mine from college, hers from high school. We took a TON of pictures and when we came home we created a scrapbook together, each of us taking on different subjects and pages.

I recently had cause to think about this layout and while I'm a little embarrassed to show it, there's a point to it with regard to the journaling (note that my scrapbooking style has changed a lot in the past four years!).
The journaling reads: "Ok, so I have this thing about taking pictures of flowers. Someday I'll have a smokin' good camera and then my flower pix will really ROCK." [next page] "Carrie hates when I stop to take pictures of flowers! She finds it so annoying. Someday she will appreciate the importance of pausing to look...to appreciate the beauty of a random flower in a big city...someday."
And now? Carrie is taking a photography class this semester and here's one of the pictures she took:
When she showed me I gasped! "You took a picture of FLOWERS?!?! You? FLOWERS?!?!"

She assures me this will not be a habit - this flower picture taking - but I kind of think she may be crossing over to my side. :o}
I'm a proud mom.

(Nice picture, eh? And this was taken this past week, here in Arizona.)

It's a beautiful photo! I am so jealous that your daughter is taking a photography class! AND I just don't understand Arizona. HOW can flowers be blooming? ;)

Ahh, Spring blossoms.. we've a fair way to go before we see anything like this here.
Please tell Carrie thanks for reminding me it will soon be spring!
It's a lovely photo.. and I like that double-layout btw... It may not be Scrapping High Fashion, but that doesn't make it worthless!

What a terrific relationship you've built with your daughter - definitely something to treasure!
Another quote I like is:
"Sooner or later, we all quote our moms."

That is soooo funny. Now do we get a post on how you are like your mom? You both take amazing photos, I wish I had a camera and the knowledge to do it too. I actually took some flowers pics too, but my brother inspired me on that one. ;-) Flower pics are beautiful!!

I will have to hide this post from my daughter. People are always telling her how alike we are, and if she reads things like this, she'll be afraid. Very afraid!
But I have to say that so often nowadays I open my mouth and hear a phrase come out that I heard in the past from my mum. Scary stuff!

It's a great photo, you have every right to be proud. I reckon she's on the way over to your side ;o). I never used to take flower photos but now I love trying out macro and seeing how much detail I can capture. (And sometimes I just don't have anyone to take photos of!)

Wonderful post and pictures! I don't think I've seen that particular scrapbook! Let's not forget to look at it when I'm there. I'm surprised Carrie isn't teaching the class--great job! Beautiful AZ flowers! xo

Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am a flower picture taker! One sight of my page and you know I'm addicted. One of my favorite things to do in winter is visit a nearby greenhouse, warm my heart and toes, and take photos of flowers.

Great photo your daughter took too!
