Wrap it up ~ trees and pompoms

Every year we draw names with Doug's family and buy a gift for the person whose name we draw. Last year I had his sister Meta's name. I wrapped her gift just before Christmas but it was too close to the big day to post photos of it, so I saved them in a random folder on my computer. Finally, I'm posting these pix. :o)
I used freezer paper to wrap the box and then cut simple triangle shapes from card stock scraps for the trees. I finished off the bottom of the trees with a pair of decorative scissors, and just glued them all the way around the bottom of the box. The pompom on top was made with yarn I picked up at a yard sale and may be one of my all-time favs! (I did a quick pompom tutorial that you can see here.)
.
This year I'm using a lot of pompom toppers for gifts as well. Turns out that our brat-cat Whiskers doesn't bother with yarn the way he does with shear ribbon so he's leaving these alone.
.
I love being able to take the time to create a pretty package {and for the record, not all of my gifts are done up like this!}. How are you doing with your gift wrapping?

Do you want to pop over and finish off mine? I hate wrapping presents ... mainly because I am so bad at it!

I saw your first comment there ..and thought what? It would certainly be very much appreciated here!! I wouldn't need a gift if I had a parcel like that - the wrapping would be enough!

It is now official - you are going to be arrested because it must be illegal for so much talent to reside in one person! Love the packaging.

Beautiful. I have just started wrapping, if you don't count all the ones I wrapped in California and left under Sarah's tree.

Of course YOU love it because everything you touch looks adorable. Mine would look so goofy I'd just have to sigh.

Wow, stunning! I do love a beautifully wrapped gift, even if I don't tend to do mine that way :-) This is about the 5th blog today that's reminded me how much wrapping I still need to do, despite my good intentions to do the lot before the kids broke up from school today.....

What a cute idea Deb! I have only one more to wrap ... oh, actually, I have a lot more to wrap in my capacity as official helper for Santa in our household ... I need stealth for that mission though and it is a bit tricky here!

I'd love to receive a present wrapped like that - only problem: I wouldn't want to open it ;-).
As for how wrapping is getting on, I've finally made a start this afternoon. I don't know where time goes these days (well I suppose I do really ;) ) I'm just glad to have made a start. A little bit each day and I'll be done by Christmas. I think my family should start the buy one present for one person, it would make life so much easier!
xx

Cute package! love how crafty you are. I am almost done with my wrapping but it is nowhere near as creative as yours.
