From Doug's Trail Camera

A couple of weeks ago I shared some photos of an elk that Doug had taken while he was out in the wilderness. Today I'm sharing a few that came off of his trail camera.
Trail cameras are motion sensor devices used by hunters and placed in remote areas in an effort to see what types of animals are in that area. I was really surprised a few years ago when Doug uploaded photos and we got to see some beautiful deer and a bobcat. It was so much fun to see the animals coming in to that area. {You can see previous trail camera photos here.}

For the photos below, Doug placed his camera in a tree, and then set up a barrel of water and a salt lick to attract animals. He recently uploaded photos from a card he pulled out of his trail camera last year, {How, I ask, do you wait a whole year to upload?!?!} and it was so fun to see these shots of a bear!

Even though this guy is cinnamon color, he's a black bear - a species common in Arizona. Isn't he beautiful?

And there was also this crazy critter among the photos:

It made me laugh as we were flipping through the photos Doug uploaded. And yes, I got his permission before posting this shot. He's a good sport that way.

Thanks, Doug, for accommodating my photo wishes, and
also for agreeing to let me share them on my blog today. {xo}
Happy Thursday, everyone!

Relax, (un)fortunately no animals were harmed in the filming of this sequence. Doug

This is so cool! I'd like to put one on our deck. We had a raccoon visit last night around midnight to the upper deck and set the dogs off!
I think it's interesting to see the bear return (assuming its the same bear?).

Great photo. I read the first part of your post about the elk then looked at the picture and though "Surely that's a bear, not an elk" That'll teach me to skim blogs

LOL Doug is so funny. How on Earth did it take him a year to upload those pics?! What's the point of even having a trail cam if it takes that long? The bear is prolly long gone by now.

How cool! Nice of Doug to share with you and your readers. Better to see that bear on camera than in person.:0

I have never heard of a camera like that before. The first shot is incredible and the last photo made me laugh!

Wow, these are amazing photos! Such a fantastic idea to capture photos of animals you'd never get pictures of close up otherwise :)

10 What fun! Last night I looked out to see a huge, fat woodchuck walk down our new brick sidewalk. I wonder what other creatures we'd see if there was a camera out there. The bear photo is awesome!

What fabulous photo's Deb. It would be such fun to have one of those cameras. I would love to see what it is that disturbs my dog in the night!

Great bear photo although it made me laugh as the whole time we were in Yosemite Hugh had his binoculars glued to his face looking for bear and of course we didn't see any! Showed him this one lol! Great fun photo of Doug!
