Good day, blog friends.
I hope this post finds you well and happy.

Speaking of happy, that was our weekend. As usual, we were busy being productive around the house, and we fit in some time with friends and family. And also as usual, I took pictures...
Our weekend began Friday evening with a 21st birthday party for our nephew Cody. I have no photos to show for that event {shame} but it was a really fun time. I drove us home and along the way I accidentally ran over a toad in the road - so sad! Anyway...
My step-dad {Rod} had brought my mom's things to me last week, so Saturday morning I started going through the boxes. It was bittersweet, for sure, but I loved it. In a way I feel like I've turned a corner where my mom's passing is concerned. I miss her like crazy, but I trust that things are the way they are for a reason, and so I just went with the flow and enjoyed the process. I love having my mom's things mixed in with mine.
And I love how the sunlight was shining directly on a strawberry item in this next photo...
And then Saturday night we went to a wedding! ♥
The sweet bride is the daughter of long time friends, and it was such a wonderful night celebrating with friends and family. Doug, Carrie and I were there, and we had so much fun!
Among the wedding guests were these two - our niece Kaycee and our great-niece "Roo." I love seeing these two together, and it warms my heart to see how much Kaycee enjoys being Roo's aunt. I know the feeling!
So now we begin a new week. Carrie and I are attending a funeral service this morning {for my great-aunt who passed last week}. It's a somber way to start a week, but reason to give pause and be grateful for the days we have.
And at work I'm deliciously busy - a good thing for helping the days pass quickly - plus it's a short week because we have the 4th of July off for Independence Day.
There you have it.
Another awesome weekend for the books.
How was yours?

Sounds like a good weekend. Love the photo of your little helper with the curtains! Sorry to hear about your great aunt. Hope that you can enjoy the rest of the week and enjoy having the 4th off!
Sounds like another busy, family filled weekend.
I'm loving the fabric that you're making your curtains with.
Such a family time so many memories and a reminder of the balance of life xxx
I was remembering the day I brought my mums things home to me after she passed away. I had the same feelings as you. I love the curtain fabric!
Sounds like such a great weekend! The photos of Roo are precious.

I spent the weekend with my family in D.C. - went to visit Sarah to celebrate her birthday. It was ridiculously hot and humid in D.C. - thankfully the Capitol is air-conditioned!
Just see the Phoenix weather on the news ~ 44C ~ eek!!
Little Roo is totally gorgoeus!
Your weather is top news here! How do you cope in those temperatures?
I bet that Lucky is already planning how to tunnel under that fence!
I love these recaps and it sounds like another good weekend :). Too is just so cute but don't they grow up quickly! Hope the weather cools down a bit for you - so sad to hear of the fire fighters who lst their lives. x
Wow, what a weekend! Lovely wedding pics, what a cutie pie little Roo is! Can't wait to see your curtains too :)

I know it was hard going through your mom's things...and good to have them with you as well.
I'm sorry for your loss as you also work through some of your mum's things.
Something about that picture of the quilts makes me want to reach out to them..

What a nice balance of productivity and fun! We had a quiet weekend, until Sunday night we got word that one of our best friends had a heart problem while riding his bike. He's been in the cardiac ICU for two days now, and though it's still touch and go, there are small signs of improvement. Prayers for Mike and Karen would be appreciated. (Mike had the accident. Karen is one of my best friends.)
Glad to hear you had fun at the wedding and Roo is absolutely adorable. Hmmm, I bet Lucky will be pondering how to get around that fence. Good luck with it.
