Good Monday morning, blog friends.
♥
It was a beautiful, sunny weekend here in Arizona, and we kept ourselves busy with house and yard work, plus some family time. I have just a few photos to share today. Come on in...
Or, come on outside and see our new tree. The cold winter frost we had this year finally took our yellow bell tree, so we had it replaced a couple of weeks ago. The replacement tree is doing swimmingly.
I keep this jar in our camping box for making sun tea at camp. When I came across it this weekend {How is there always at least one thing that didn't make it back into the camp box?} some sun tea sounded good, so I took advantage of the sunny day and made some tea.
{water + tea bags + a few hours of sun = yummy iced sun tea}
We celebrated my father-in-law's birthday this weekend with a party at his house - it's always a good time with my in-laws!
And the temps on Saturday night were perfect for an evening outdoors!
Here's the birthday boy himself, surrounded by the ladies {our niece Bethann, friend/chef Beth, and my SIL Janet}.
Pretty flowers in my FIL's backyard...
And cupcakes. Oh, did we have cupcakes! Beth really outdid herself and made four different flavors. These were passion fruit margarita cupcakes:
And there were tres leches cupcakes with dulce de leches buttercream, toasted coconut and homemade caramel sauce:
And my favorite, Mexican chocolate cupcakes garnished with crushed almond brittle:
And finally, white chocolate anise seed cupcakes with strawberry buttercream, white chocolate and strawberry coulis:
Lots of calories consumed, but all for a good cause: Doug's dad's birthday!

It was such a fun weekend, spent with family and friends with a mixture of stuff-around-the-house thrown in. This is one of those Monday mornings where I really wish we had just one more day off...sigh. Anyway, hello Monday. I have a feeling that this is going to be an amazing week! Go make it so.
:o)

Those cupcakes look totally decadent - and a surefire recipe for fibro disaster! So glad you were able to enjoy them.
WOW! I'm gaining weight looking at those cupcakes. LOL Have a great week.
A beautiful garden in which to enjoy all those amazing cupcakes
Here in England it's a bank holiday so everyone has an extra day off! Those cupcakes look amazing, I'm not sure I would be able to just pick one ;-)
Sounds lovely - and those cupcakes look so good!
Rinda
Those cupcakes look so good! How nice to sit outside in the sun for supper.
Sounds like a great weekend and the cupcakes look great! We were lucky and had today as a public holiday and the sun shone too!
We had a rare sunny weekend here and rarer indeed because it was a holiday! I am right with you in thinking, just one more day because it has been really really lovely. I can't imagine a tea bag here doing anything more than floating in the clear water for hours as he never gets hot enough for it to do anything!
That is a lot of cupcakes! It is cold here. Cold and wet.
My cupcakes never look like that ....
An outdoors party? Not that I'm at all envious :)
Have a great week!
I am drooling my friend....I LOVE. All things Duce de Leche flavoured...glad you had such a great weekend!

I think maybe you should rename your blog with something to do with cupcakes. The best looking ones I've ever seen, I've seen here. Drool!
It looks like a great weekend! terrific photos deb!
It sounds like a wonderful weekend and those cupcakes - wow! I'm especially intrigued by the passionfruit margarita ones. :)
