And then I took an online class with Kat this year, ended up signing up for her e-newsletter, and I learned first hand about Liberate Your Art and it seemed possible that even I could join in if I wanted to. :o)
{Kat's 2013 postcard}
This year there were 1,290 postcards submitted from 216 different artists from 11 countries! Here's how the art swap worked: participants send five postcards, mailing labels (with their own address) and postage stamps to Kat. Kat and her crew collect postcards from participants from all around the planet, and then switch them around and mail them back out.
I was so excited when I received my first postcard in the mail! How wonderful to participate in a project that not only nurtures our creativity, but encourages us to share it with others. Here's a look at the postcards I received:
A lovely card from Carolyn Jane in the UK ~ I loved her whimsical quote.
A pretty card from Janith from California ~ I love her beautiful textures.
Kristina from California sent this happy card.
What's happier than a nice photo of balloons?
I loved the quote on this card from Amanda. I emailed her and asked if this
was her own drawing and she said yes. Isn't it lovely?
And last but not least, this beautiful flower photo from Cindy
who lives in the same state as me! Arizona.
My thoughts on the swap: I loved participating in Kat's Liberate Your Art postcard swap! I was unsure of what to include on the back of my postcard - ended up putting information about myself and what I blog about. It was fun to see the different ways other people interpretted this project, and there are some things I'll do differently next year. And yes, I will definitely participate again next year!

Amanda's is my favorite!! Wowee!!
Does she have an etsy?
Love the postcards you got, but where's a picture of the ones you sent?
Beautiful cards, this swap really was fun! Valerie
:o) Updated to include the postcard I submitted. Thanks, Carrie. xo
Wasn't it fun? :) I'm definitely in for next time, too - and, like you, I've already started to think about what I was pleased with and what I might do differently!
The card you sent is lovely as are the cards you received. I'm a Phoenix blogger so I'm going to add you to my AZ Blogger blogroll...I always enjoy "meeting" other local bloggers and you've just tipped me off to an additional one, too.
Oh! You received some real beauties. I've seen some of them throughout the blog hop, but not all of them. The postcard you liberated is just wonderful as well. Take care and I'll see you next time!
I adore the map by Amanda! How fab!
A great collection! I'm especially partial to the map!
What fun to find people I know on this blog hop and swap! Love your card (of course!)
What fun! I love the card you sent.

You received such beautiful cards and the one you sent is lovely! Can't wait to do this all again next year! Cheers....see you then! Sheila
I'm so glad you see yourself as an artist and you took the plunge to participate this year! It was great to have you joining in.
I think this is the most amazing swap I have ever seen! I've been enjoying posts about it for the last few days and I'm blown away by the skill and the organisation that has gone into it. Just amazing.
So excited to see you received on of my cards. I agree, it was fun to see not only the beautiful cards but the messages written on the back. Kristina
Thanks for your gorgeous card! It reached Calgary, Alberta, Canada..
