Remember the purse I made? Well, Liz loved it. Asked for it. Received it for her birthday last week. I wanted a little add-on so I embellished the front of a mini-Moleskine journal to go with it.
I spent the morning replacing the fading flowers in the front yard planter with a new batch that are more appropriate for the upcoming season. It's fun to walk through the house and get a glimpse of them through the screen door.
Ok, it's easy for me to call the big rocks around the fire pit at our northern property "the simple things" -- I'm not sure my [super-strong] hubby would call them simple. This was his project this past weekend while we were there, making the fire ring bigger and better.
As you can see, it worked quite well! We had a campfire all weekend and came home smelling like juniper wood. :o)
While he moved rocks I worked on a "gratitude" garland I'm making for our fireplace (at home) -- will preview that in the month of November.
I made this apron for Carrie as a housewarming (moving out) gift. She chose the fabric ~ I cut and sewed it (upside down -- oops!) and added my signature 'apron brooch."
Who knew they would be so much fun to make? Who knew they would be so addicting...just one more...just one more...just... I want to make hundreds of them in SO many different colors. I want to make an afghan TONIGHT. I need yarn. . I watched a few YouTube videos over and over and over, had several mess-ups before I actually got the process down, but I did it!!! :o) .
~sigh~ It's finally here. Autumn. No changing colors here in Arizona, just beautiful COOL mornings and evenings and no scorching day time heat. I love this time of year! The shift from "summer fun" theme to autumn and the anticipation of upcoming holidays and celebrations.
I saw this acorn wreath on CafeCartolina's blog and I just love it. It makes me want to buy some wool and learn how to felt!!!
